Vestige legal

Terms of Use

A concise document describing the rules and risks of using the Vestige website and dApp interface.

Last updated: June 9, 2026

Vestige provides a self-custodial interface for inheritance vaults. These terms explain user responsibility, protocol risk, transaction finality, and the limits of what the interface can promise.

01

Acceptance of terms

By accessing the Vestige website or using the Vestige dApp interface, you acknowledge these Terms of Use and agree to use the protocol at your own responsibility.

If you do not understand the risks of blockchain transactions, smart contracts, or self-custodial wallets, you should not fund a vault until you have obtained appropriate guidance.

02

Self-custody and wallet responsibility

Vestige does not custody private keys, seed phrases, wallets, or user funds. Users remain responsible for wallet security, transaction review, address verification, and access to their own accounts.

Every vault creation, deposit, withdrawal, check-in, update, or claim is performed through wallet-signed blockchain transactions.

03

Protocol and network risk

Vestige may operate on Arc Testnet or other blockchain environments that can experience downtime, RPC failures, chain reorganizations, wallet issues, explorer inaccuracies, or contract deployment changes.

Smart contracts may contain bugs or behave unexpectedly. Testnet deployments are especially experimental and should not be treated as guaranteed production infrastructure.

04

Irreversible transactions

Blockchain transactions may be irreversible once confirmed. Incorrect heir addresses, receiver addresses, token addresses, amounts, or timing configurations can result in loss of access or unintended asset movement.

Users should carefully review every wallet prompt before signing and should test their intended flow before relying on it for meaningful value.

05

No legal, financial, or estate-planning advice

Vestige is a technical inheritance primitive and user interface. It is not legal advice, financial advice, tax advice, or a substitute for professional estate planning.

Users should consult qualified advisors before using any blockchain-based inheritance mechanism for real-world estate planning.

06

No recovery guarantee

Vestige cannot guarantee recovery of funds lost through user error, wallet compromise, incorrect configuration, incompatible tokens, failed receivers, or blockchain-level issues.

Any recovery or cleanup path is limited to what the smart contract and connected wallet can actually perform.

07

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the website, dApp, contract deployment, or protocol scope changes. The latest version should be identified by the date shown on this page.

Continued use of Vestige after updates means you accept the revised terms.

This page is provided for clarity and product transparency. It should be reviewed by qualified counsel before a public production launch.
